Masked cowboys
Maybe we should change our name to ‘masked cowboys’ because sometimes it feels like the wild west. Today we received an offer through our textile workshop manager Ellen, for a machine that’s already at customs at a Chinese airport. We’re so deep into this, that we’re beginning to understand secretary van Rijn: ‘Bonanza.’
In this short period (2 weeks as of today) we’ve been in contact with merchants and buyers, who have informed us of the price these protective goods are being sold for.
Jaap Stelwagen and his wife, Ling, have kept cool heads and managed to find two different reliable factories who want to supply us with a machine. A new trader reached out to us today. This shines another light on the matter. His machine is expensive, way too expensive, but can be here very quickly. Naz forwarded the offer and videos of the machine. The man can also come to install and maintain the machine himself. Jaap and Johan decide to schedule a call with the trader and to do an investigation.
Meanwhile, the other two machines are ready to ship, but daily flights are more expensive and more complicated to book. This is because China has closed off part of the airports. In the meantime people keep calling us for more information on when we can supply them with masks.
